Key Responsibilities
Teach
piano and guitar
to primary-aged students in small group and one-to-one sessions.
Plan fun, interactive, and age-appropriate lessons that build confidence and musical skills.
Organise and lead
end-of-term performances
, showcasing student progress to parents and staff.
Encourage creativity and a love for music through engaging activities and games.
Support students in developing fundamental musical skills such as rhythm, melody, and basic notation.
Provide regular feedback to students, parents, and school staff on progress.
Ensure a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
Requirements
Strong proficiency in
piano and guitar
, with experience teaching young children.
Ability to create engaging, structured lessons suitable for primary school students.
Experience
organising and leading school performances
.
Patience, enthusiasm, and strong communication skills.
Must be
reliable and able to travel
.
A valid
Enhanced DBS check
.
Desirable
Experience in primary school settings or early years music education.
Familiarity with beginner music curriculums and methods such as Kodaly, Orff, or Colourstrings.
Ability to incorporate simple singing or rhythm activities into lessons.
