Rotherham has the ambition to be a town where musical creativity is at the heart of every aspect of life. Music from before birth, through school and after school activities, with family learning, participation as audiences and encouraging expression that leads from passion to profession. Rotherham Music provides music education to more than 3,000 children and young people each week across a range of musical disciplines for both in and out of school education. Alongside its provision for children and young people the service also supports a range of community music programmes from its Mini Melodies programme for pre-school children and its annual Signals music festival.
Rotherham Music is looking for a part time strings tutor for three days a week. Experience in individual and whole class teaching is desirable and the ability to deliver on a second instrument is also welcome.
Our ideal team members would be:
Able to tutor pupils to a high standard in their area of musical expertise
Able to tutor students individually, and in small and large groups
Willing to develop their practice according to the needs of a diverse range of students
Able to work during the day and, ideally, one evening
