Born to Perform College Derby is seeking a dynamic and skilled
Musical Theatre Teacher
to join our passionate faculty, delivering high-level training to students aged 16+ on our
Level 3 Performing Arts courses
.
We're looking for someone with a strong foundation in musical theatre who can deliver across the disciplines of
acting, singing, and movement
, with a particular focus on
performance, repertoire building, and audition preparation
. You'll be shaping confident, industry-ready performers who are prepared for further training or professional work.
Key Responsibilities:
Teach engaging, integrated musical theatre classes to post-16 students
Develop students' skills in acting through song, storytelling, and stagecraft
Build solo and ensemble repertoire suitable for showcases and assessments
Direct and support performance projects and in-house productions
Collaborate with the singing and dance team to deliver a holistic curriculum
Foster creativity, discipline, and professionalism in all learners
Essential Skills & Experience:
Proven experience in musical theatre performance and/or teaching
Ability to teach across acting, singing, and movement disciplines
Knowledge of a wide range of musical theatre repertoire
Strong classroom management and communication skills
A passion for nurturing talent and inspiring confidence
Desirable:
Experience in post-16 or conservatoire-level training
Direction or choreography experience for musical theatre pieces
Relevant teaching qualification or willingness to achieve one
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: 30.00-40.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
