The Role
We are seeking a
Trainee Designer & Engineer
to join our team. This hybrid role covers both
design
and
engineering
, providing a unique opportunity to develop skills in CAD/3D design, client liaison, site management, and hands-on engineering of MVHR systems.
Full training will be provided, making this an excellent entry-level role for candidates with an interest in
building services, engineering, or ventilation systems
.
Key ResponsibilitiesDesign & Project Coordination
Produce accurate
2D and 3D designs
of MVHR systems using in-house software.
Work closely with clients, contractors, and customers to agree on design proposals and achieve
design sign-off
.
Liaise with project stakeholders to ensure designs meet
Building Regulations Part F
and
Passivhaus standards
.
Assist in producing technical drawings, reports, and installation documents.
Site & Installation Support
Attend site visits nationwide to ensure design intent is correctly translated into installation.
Support installation teams by providing clear instructions and resolving on-site issues.
Monitor project progress to maintain alignment between design and delivery.
Engineering & Maintenance
Carry out
servicing, repairs, and maintenance
of MVHR systems.
Perform
commissioning, testing, balancing, and compliance checks
.
Ensure all systems are signed off in line with
Part F Building Regulations
and
Passivhaus guidelines
.
Assist senior engineers with troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.
Requirements
Essential:
Full
UK Driving Licence
.
Full
Right to Work in the UK
.
Good
computer literacy
(CAD experience desirable but not essential - training provided).
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Willingness to learn and undertake full training.
Willingness to achieve and maintain a valid CSCS card
for site access (training and support provided).
Desirable:
Previous
site experience
in construction, building services, or engineering.
Experience in
ventilation, mechanical, or electrical systems
.
Knowledge of Building Regulations or Passivhaus standards.
