Job Summary

We are seeking a caring and responsible Babysitter/Nanny to provide attentive childcare and support. The ideal candidate will be passionate about child development, reliable, and able to create a safe, nurturing environment. This role offers an opportunity to work closely with children, fostering their growth and learning in a supportive setting. Fluency in English is essential. The position involves engaging children in age-appropriate activities, ensuring their safety, and assisting with daily routines.

Duties

Supervise and care for children in a safe and nurturing manner Plan and organise educational and recreational activities suitable for the child's age Assist with homework and teaching activities when appropriate Prepare meals and snacks according to dietary requirements Ensure the child's safety at all times, both indoors and outdoors Drive children to school, appointments, or extracurricular activities as needed Maintain a clean and organised play area and children's belongings Communicate regularly with parents about the child's progress and any concerns Support children in developing social skills, independence, and confidence

Qualifications

Experience in childcare, nannying, or babysitting roles desirable Valid driving licence with a clean driving record Strong understanding of child development principles Excellent organisational skills and reliability Fluency in English Ability to engage children through creative play and educational activities Compassionate, patient, and attentive nature Ability to adapt to different family routines and children's needs
We have a selection of childcaring responsibilities that we would like assistance with - they don't all have to be the same person, so we would be keen to hear from anyone who is interested in any parts of it!

1. Driving 11 year old boy to and from school during term time - it is 20 miles away. This would be required 2 mornings a week (7:45 - 9 to cover return journey) and 3 afternoons a week (3:15 - 4:30). This could be in our car if required.

2. Picking up 7 year old boy from school (4 minutes walk from house), bringing him home, cooking a meal, supervising supper time and homework. 11 year old would also need to be provided with supper when returned from school and supported. This would be 4 afternoons a week.

3. Childcare during school holidays for both children, taking to activities, engaging them in interesting activities at home, lots of outdoor time, cooking for them, etc. Again, car can be provided for these periods.

We would love one or more people to come into our lives to help our children to thrive and to develop into decent grown ups!

We have a dog and a cat, so any person involved in our family would need to love pets!

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 12.29-17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 18 - 35 per week
