Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Junior Data Engineer to become part of the National Data and Analytics (NDA) Data Engineering Team.



The NDA Data Engineering Team is working on providing data to drive the business forward. You'll work in a team that has access to end-to-end business data whilst also working with new technologies and data sources. As part of NDA, you will form close relationships with Business Partners, Data Scientists and Report Developers to deliver data driven solutions to the business.



We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about working with data and keen on learning new technologies to support the team of data engineers with day-to-day activities and to participate in development project works while enhancing their own knowledge.



Reporting to the NDA Manager, the candidate will be required to collaborate with various business departments and have good communication skills alongside the technical skills as part of the role is to handle business requests and manage incident resolution.

Providing 1st level technical support Work on data engineering projects Support members of the data engineering team with day-to-day activities and project work

About You

The ability to interact with the operational business and other departments, translating technical concepts and problems into business language Excellent listening, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills Excellent problem-solving skills, with a solution-oriented mindset An enthusiasm for technology, whilst being customer and business focused Logical and efficient work ethics, with a keen attention to detail An ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively An ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks whilst under pressure Experience of interpreting business requirements into technical solutions Able to interact confidently with technical and non-technical audiences Excellent problem solving skills Be self-motivated, adaptable and organised xcellent communication skills in all areas Able to build relationships at all levels and possess strong stakeholder management (internal and external) skills Data modelling and SQL Scripting experienceThe successful candidate will ideally have experience within the following area's SAP, MS Azure, DataBricks, Alteryx, Analysis for Office, Python / PySpark
