Job Description

The RAF Air Cadet (RAFAC) organisation is expanding its provision of residential training facilities across the UK, a vacancy has arisen within Council Reserve Forces' & Cadets' Association (CRFCA) on a 12 month Fixed term Contract for a National Output Coordinator, to play a key part in shaping the national experience for thousands of air cadets across the UK.

As the National Output Coordinator (HEO - Training Plans and Delivery), this is a projects officer role, you'll be the central point of contact for all national activity. Working closely with military, civil service, and volunteer colleagues, you'll coordinate a wide range of events--from single-day activities to large-scale UK and overseas camps.

You'll ensure that all national activity is well-planned, cost-effective, safe, and impactful. It's a fast-paced role, but one that offers real satisfaction--knowing your work directly benefits every cadet in the organisation.

Principal Areas of Accountability, Tasks and Duties



Coordinate and oversee flagship events and camps across the UK and overseas, ensuring they align with RAFAC's strategic vision. Work with volunteers, civil servants, and military staff to ensure activities are safe, cost-effective, and well-executed from planning to review. Streamline processes and improve ways of working using tools like SharePoint and Power Automate. Build strong relationships with internal teams, Station ACLOs, and external partners to expand cadet opportunities. Maintain accurate records, manage risks, and capture lessons learned to inform future planning. Lead meetings, manage volunteer SMEs, and ensure activities are well-communicated and publicised. Access dedicated learning and development time and stay current with mandatory training. Line-manage and administrate our volunteer subject matter experts to ensure compliance with RAFAC policy.

Strong project management skills/qualification with a proven ability to manage large-scale projects. Proven experience coordinating complex programmes or events involving multiple stakeholders. Proactive, solution focused and self-motivated with a commitment to continuous self-improvement to approach challenges. Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including volunteers, military personnel, and civil servants. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, (both written and verbal) capable of building positive relationships with volunteers and staff at all levels. Advanced IT and digital literacy, including a technical understanding of SharePoint and its functionalities including Power BI and Power Automate (list development, calendar management and site oversight), Microsoft Office Suite, and communication platforms (e.g., Teams, Outlook). Experience in identifying and implementing digital solutions to streamline processes. Excellent organisational, administrative and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively. The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and to motivate and inspire others. Works well independently or within a team environment Ability to interpret and apply policy and procedural guidance. Experience in drafting formal communications and reports for internal and external stakeholders. Full UK Driving Licence.

Management experience Knowledge of and ability to use Artificial Intelligence i.e., Gemini or Co-pilot to produce policy or reports. Experience working with volunteers or in a volunteer-led organisation. Knowledge of safeguarding, risk assessment, and health & safety in youth or volunteer-led environments. Experience of working within/with Armed Forces and/or cadet organisations Experience of working with Head of Establishments/ Defence Training Estate
