Nature Positive Advisor

will work with the Nature First Strategy Manager in a progressive and ambitious team. We are looking someone who is value driven and who will support on the development of our Nature First commitment with a focus on catchment interventions and nature positive business. A key part of this role will be to work with colleagues who are piloting our new Integrated Water Management Plans, supporting them in new ways of working to identify opportunities for nature-based solutions. Nature positive business and is an emerging area and as such we are not expecting applicants to have all the requirements of role. We are looking for someone with a keen interest in this area and a desire to progress in role in this exciting new space. Where you fit in:







As our

Nature Positive Advisor

, you will:




Act as a subject matter expert to the company supporting colleagues to identify opportunities for nature-based solutions. Support with the development of a robust evidence base for nature-based solutions. Support with the development of company policy position statements on different types of nature-based solutions. Work with our GIS specialists to develop our company nature risk assessment in line with the TNFD Leap approach. Work with colleagues to develop our approach to nature positive reporting using the State of Nature metric and feed this into our strategic approach to nature-based solutions. Work with the Strategic Partnerships team to inform colleagues on nature opportunities within our partnership portfolios of work and our Integrated Water Management Planning activities. Using the nature risk assessment to identify opportunities to partner with new organisations who have shared nature-related risks and opportunities. Represent Yorkshire Water in the water industry and across Yorkshire Support in the development of strategic partnerships, creating synergies, funding opportunities and coordinated action to unlock delivery of nature-based solutions. Look for opportunities to promote new research and innovation to evidence nature-based solutions.



What skills & qualifications you will need:






Degree in a relevant discipline A broad knowledge of the water environment and biodiversity. Able to manage and control nature related data Self-motivated, enthusiastic team player with excellent organisational skills Owns and has a positive attitude to solving problems. Able to communicate effectively through written communications, presentations and in meetings. Develops and maintains effective internal and external relationships. Organisational skills to manage the resource requirements for project delivery and to ensure high quality outputs. Able to manage stakeholder relationships.



You will also benefit from having:






Post graduate degree in a relevant discipline. Knowledge of spatial data and GIS Familiar with the work from the Taskforce for Nature Relation Financial Disclosures (TNFD) Familiar with the principles of Catchment Management and Integrated Water Management Familiar with business risk assessment Strong interpersonal skills, which are used to effectively influence and negotiate on environmental legislation matters at regional and national levels. Membership of an appropriate professional body
