About the Nature Towns & Cities Project:
The Nature Towns and Cities Project is a transformative programme designed to enhance Walsall's green and blue spaces, promote biodiversity, and integrate nature and health priorities into the heart of our borough's regeneration. Working with a diverse range of partners--including Natural England, Birmingham & Black Country Wildlife Trust, Canal and River Trust, University of Birmingham, Walsall Together, and local community groups--this project will deliver lasting benefits for residents, visitors, and the environment.
As Project Manager, you will:

Financial Oversight: Handle a 1m+ revenue programme, including budget management, grant claims, and procurement.
Compliance and Reporting: Ensure adherence to Council and funder policies, financial regulations, and produce detailed reports for stakeholders.
Ideal candidates will have a strong background in project management (preferably in the green space or conservation sector), experience with large-scale, multi-agency partnerships, budget management skills, and the ability to influence at all levels. A relevant degree or equivalent experience and a recognised project management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2), or equivalent experience, are essential. For internal council candidates the role can be applied for as a fixed-term role, or a secondment.
