NDT Technician
Proptech is looking for skilled NDT candidates to join our growing team.
Working with metallic and composite components, our NDT team investigate the condition of aircraft propellers and components to establish the serviceability of the product.
NDT Technicians are also given the opportunity to be engaged in additional projects across the company in areas such as: business process improvement, engineering projects and/or research into new equipment or capability.
Key tasks include:
Perform NDT inspections at Level 2 in the following methods: Fluorescent Penetrant, Magnetic Particle Inspection, Eddy Current and Ultrasonic.
Create and maintain local NDT instructions for component inspections.
Deliver on-the-job training and supervision to trainee technicians.
Perform Pre-Penetrant Etch and Strip Anodise of products prior to NDT.
Maintain the NDT facility to a high standard, managing all equipment and materials.
Support field-trip inspection activities.
Perform other technician duties around the workshop.
Key requirements include:
Previous/current experience and qualifications at Level 2 (PCN Aero or EN4179) in UT and ET in the aviation maintenance/aerospace sector(s).
Experience/qualifications in MT and PT would also be an advantage.
Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent training certification an advantage but not necessary.
Good understanding of the English language required to read and fully understand component maintenance manuals, drawings, engineering layout information and additions to the original design such as Service Bulletins, Service Letters and Airworthiness Directives.
Attention to detail and ability to produce accurate documentation of inspections.
Proficient in NDT report writing and producing component instruction sheets.
Ability to use a wide and varied range of precision measuring equipment.
Experience with COSHH and safe use of chemicals.
Right to work in the UK with no travel restrictions.
