Job Description

We're looking for a skilled and motivated Gardener to support the upkeep and development of parks and green spaces across the borough. You'll carry out a range of horticultural and grounds maintenance duties with minimal supervision.

Key Duties

Grass cutting (pedestrian & ride-on mowers) Strimming, hedge trimming, blowing, and general hand tool use Marking football fields and repairing turf Weeding, planting, pruning, raking, and soil cultivation Seasonal bedding installation and landscape scheme support Litter picking and bin emptying Driving vehicles and towing trailers (with appropriate licence) Equipment upkeep and reporting faults Safe storage and maintenance of tools and vans Follow Health & Safety procedures Use of natural gardening methods (no chemicals) Assist arboriculture team and work across departments as needed

Requirements

Level 2 qualification in Horticulture or equivalent Hands-on gardening/grounds maintenance experience Able to work independently and as part of a team Full driving licence (trailer towing preferred) Willingness to undergo training
