What you'll do
Assess & monitor
premature and term infants at home - trend sats, ETCO?, weight and developmental milestones; update PEWS.
Deliver high-acuity care
: tracheostomy changes, ventilator parameter checks, TPN line management, kangaroo care support, NG/NJ feeds, medication administration and emergency escalation.
Develop family-centred care plans
aligned with discharge summaries, CQC standards and parental goals.
Coach parents & carers
on equipment checks, infection-control, red-flag recognition and CPR drills, boosting confidence and preventing readmission.
Coordinate MDT input
with tertiary NICUs, community paediatricians, dietitians, SALT and physios for seamless holistic care.
Maintain meticulous electronic records
(EMIS / SystmOne) to ensure audit-ready notes and safeguard neonatal safety.
Safeguard
babies by recognising and escalating any concerns under Working Together 2023 guidance.
Stay current
through mandatory updates and bespoke neonatal masterclasses.
Your profile
Current NMC pin
with
Neonatal Qualification in Specialty (QIS)
or recent Level II/III NICU experience.
Proven competency in
home ventilation, tracheostomy care, central-line/TPN management
and neonatal resuscitation.
Enhanced DBS (children & adults)
on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain).
Right to work in the UK
(sponsorship not available).
Full UK driving licence & car
preferred for community visits.
Desirable extras
Competence in
high-flow humidified oxygen
and seizure rescue meds.
Experience with
transitional-care discharge planning
or
continuing-care funding reviews

Qualification in
breast-feeding support or developmental care (NIDCAP)
.
