We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Neonatal Qualified in Speciality (QIS) to join our team. This role is pivotal in providing high-quality care to critically ill newborns and supporting their families during challenging times. The successful candidate will possess specialised knowledge in neonatal care and demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development.
Qualifications and Training (Essential)
Registered Nurse (Child or Adult)
with current NMC registration (or equivalent if outside the UK).
Neonatal Qualified in Specialty (QIS)
status.
Evidence of completion of:
Special Care Baby Certificate
High Dependency Intensive Care Baby Certificate
Pathophysiology Certificate
Key Responsibilities
Provide specialist nursing care to neonates requiring
special care
,
high dependency
, and
intensive care
support.
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans for each infant and their family.
Monitor and manage neonates requiring advanced interventions including ventilation, CPAP, and infusion therapy.
Work collaboratively with neonatologists, paediatricians, and allied health professionals to ensure integrated and holistic care.
Support parents and families, offering guidance, education, and emotional support throughout the infant's hospital stay.
Contribute to maintaining high standards of infection control, safety, and clinical governance within the neonatal unit.
Participate in ongoing quality improvement initiatives, audits, and evidence-based practice development.
Act as a mentor and role model to junior nursing staff and students, supporting their clinical learning and development.
Maintain accurate, timely, and comprehensive clinical documentation in line with hospital policy and professional standards.
