Image Logistics is a specialist software and web development company. We specialise in complex integrations between bespoke, responsive and modern customer-facing front-end websites and back-of-house on-premises systems.

About the job

We're looking to expand our team by recruiting .NET Web Developers, for front and back-end work at both junior and, in the near future, more experienced levels.

Using the latest tools and technologies you'll be working with a small team of like-minded individuals to deliver high-quality and professional development services and solutions to a diverse and interesting client base.

The role involves working closely with other developers and technical staff in our office on a regular basis, and would therefore suit someone who has experience working as part of an in-person development team.

The position is based at our offices in Musselburgh, with a hybrid working arrangement requiring regular attendance in the office at least three days a week. Applicants must live within commuting distance of the building or be willing to relocate.

Responsibilities in the role include:

Collaboratively building responsive web solutions as part of a development team. Integrating web services and solutions with on-premises systems. Carrying out peer reviews of code, and in turn having code reviewed by other team members. Maintaining accurate documentation of developed systems. Briefing technical support staff in system usage to allow them to adequately service end-users. Designing and deploying bug-fixes for both your own code, and code written by others. Working with colleagues to bring legacy systems up to current technological and programming standards.

About you

We're looking for a team player who can also work independently when needed. You should be able to both provide advice to and accept support from other team members, and be able to explain complex technical concepts in 'plain English'. It's also important that you can multi-task effectively, and that you are able to demonstrate a strong attention to detail whilst maintaining a view of the 'big picture'.

We're looking for the following key skills and experience:

Working in the .NET development environment and Visual Studio. Programming in C#, in particular with Razor pages. Understanding of developing and consuming APIs. Experience in working with SQL databases. Familiarity with source/version control, such as Git and Azure DevOps. Using CSS, HTML and display frameworks, specifically Bootstrap.

We create online and offline solutions for established clients across the UK and beyond. We have a strong track record in providing complex integrations between the web and on-premises systems.

Our team is comprised predominantly of technical staff including developers, infrastructure engineers, system administrators and technical project managers. We work together to deliver exceptional end-to-end solutions for our established client base.

We work from a modern, purpose-built office in Musselburgh just to the east of Edinburgh. This is easily reached by car (free parking is available immediately outside), by bus (Lothian service numbers 26, 30, 44, 46 and 48; East Coast services numbers 106, 113 & 124) or train (Musselburgh and Newcraighall railway stations are nearby). For cyclists we are also near or on National Cycle Network routes 1 and 76.

Job particulars

We currently operate with a hybrid structure working in our Musselburgh offices at least three days a week with two days home based. 37 hour working week, based around a core of Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm. We offer 20 days holiday per year, plus 4 customary holidays days which are treated like normal holidays and can be taken at any agreed time, plus four fixed customary holidays (25/26 December, 1/2 January). Salary will be based on your experience however at a junior level we would expect a starting salary to be around 30k per annum. Applicants must have an existing right to live and work in the UK.
