Owns and manages all aspects of IT Network and Infrastructure Management. Oversees and directs the day-to-day activities of IT Operations team including Infrastructure, Security and DevOps, ensuring that systems, services, and infrastructure work reliably and securely. The IT Infrastructure manager provides guidance and leadership to the IT department and its technicians, but also directly supports end users by handling escalations, resolving user issues, and monitoring the performance of business-critical systems to prevent delays and outages and quickly resolve ongoing issues.
Manage all aspects of the day to day operations of the IT Network and Infrastructure team.
Ensure deadlines are managed and met for all IT Network and Infrastructure projects
Design, Monitor, Maintain and Optimize company networks, servers and other infrastructure at all sites and onboard all vessels
Responsible for providing technical input into IT strategy and subsequent projects to implement strategy.
Responsible for device and password management systems
Responsible for data backup and system security operations (e.g. backup systems, user authorisation, firewalls)
Responsible for installations, upgrades and configurations of hardware and software
Assess system performance and recommend improvements
Ensure data is handled, transferred or processed according to legal and company guidelines
Control costs and budgets regarding IT systems and infrastructure
Work with IT Quality and Contracts manager to manage contracts with vendors (e.g. development platforms, telecommunication companies, password managers) and software licenses
Develop IT policies and practices with the IT Quality and Contracts Manager
Ensure training and personal development plans of IT Network and Infrastructure team are created and followed
Evaluate team performance against targets and KPI's and report monthly to Head of IT
Manage team resourcing and development to ensure sufficient capacity to support business needs
Identify areas for automation to increase team efficiency
Candidate Criteria
Substantial experience in working in IT.
Significant experience managing an IT Network and Infrastructure team for an international organisation.
Experience with system installation, configuration and analysis
Thorough hands on knowledge of networks and cloud computing
Knowledge of data protection operations and legislation (e.g. GDPR)
Outstanding communication skills
Be able to identify gaps in the teams knowledge and implement plans to close them.
Knowledge of project management methodology's and frameworks.
Excellent Team leadership skills
Excellent people management skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Problem solving
Experience Coaching and mentoring an IT Network and Infrastructure team.
Must be comfortable multitasking with ability to work on and prioritise several tasks at once
