We are seeking a Network Design Specialist who will be working on global voice network of Bt which is used by of the renowned largest global enterprise customers.

The Network Design Specialist is an essential role responsible for the design of our core voice networks, enabling rapid deployment underpinning new products and protecting revenues in excess of \xc2\xa3500 M.

What you\'ll be doing

  • Design leadership to enhance the capabilities of the Global SIP Trunking platform with new features and improved performance to enable the SIP Trunking product to be class leading. This will be done via leading on key Designs, supporting existing Designs and supporting handover to Test activities in relation to the platform and its related platforms e.g. Session Border Controllers, NOAS.
  • Responsible for managing and supporting the interface to technical teams outside of Voice Infrastructure, including OSS design and test, Security.
  • Have expert technical domain knowledge and skills/experience and uses them in the formulation of strategy and evolution plans as well as in delivery of designs and business solutions.
  • Produce of E2E OSS integration designs, defining L2C and T2R processes for Cross Product Portfolio interconnects and configuration of capability components to deliver the agreed business outcome for One Voice and Inbound Contact Global services (i.e. technical input on early stages of new demand stories, technical support throughout the capability lifecycle, resolution of live incidents involving design issues, and support to operational process design).
  • Have excellent knowledge of Global OSS systems and is able to integrate new processes with existing work flow systems taking into consideration all legal and regulatory requirements and BT Security guidelines.
  • Be responsible for the platform design of new network components detailing the voice network integration and the OSS integration, communicate the security requirements to the Security teams and get involved in the low level configuration of the new platform component within model and live network.
  • Managing peer reviews and providing sign off authority on designs associated with network components within network platforms and/or customer solutions.
  • Take technical lead in resolution of any significant GMV in-life service affecting issues by getting involved in troubleshooting and providing level 4 support.
  • Highlight any design risks encountered.
  • Manage resolution of risks.
  • Lead on Engineering Integrity and architecture conformance.
  • Mentor and share knowledge with other designers and provide training to support operations.
What you\'ll bring

Mandatory :
  • 3 years + experience within voice networks.
  • Good knowledge on VoIP Technologies & protocols (SIP, RTP, WebRTC).
  • Understanding of SIP protocol and IP networks.
  • Experience on Linux or Unix Operating Systems.
  • Good understanding of BT security policies and compliance.
  • Knowledge in network performance monitoring systems.
  • Good understanding of virtualisation and software defined networks.
  • Good knowledge of cloud solutions.
  • Excellent Coaching Skills.
  • Proven record of delivering projects to time, cost, quality requirements.
  • Excellent communication skils both verbal and written.
Nice to have :
  • Understanding of DevOps and IaC principles.
  • Understanding of automation tools.
  • Good understanding of international security standards and best practices (CIS, ISF SOGP, ISO/IEC 27001:2013).
  • Knowledge of LDAP or TACACS.
  • Good understanding of security policies and/or international security standards and best practises.
  • Knowledge in Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery principles.
