Job Overview



The Network Engineer / SME will be responsible for the

design, deployment, and support

of enterprise network infrastructure as part of corporate real estate initiatives. This includes supporting

new site builds, expansions, relocations, and integration or separation projects

in close collaboration with global and local facilities teams, project managers, and technology stakeholders.

This role requires a blend of

technical expertise, project delivery experience, and stakeholder engagement

to ensure network infrastructure is delivered to high standards of performance, reliability, and security.

Key Responsibilities



Design and implement

network infrastructure solutions for new facilities (Greenfield), expansions, relocations, co-locations, and transformation initiatives. Partner with project managers to

develop and execute technical network designs

aligned with enterprise architecture and standards.

Deploy, configure, and maintain

network components including: Local Area Network (LAN) Wireless LAN (WLAN) Wide Area Network (WAN) Software-Defined WAN (SD-WAN) Routers, switches, firewalls, wireless controllers, and access points Prepare

comprehensive Bills of Materials (BoM)

based on site layouts and infrastructure standards. Ensure

adherence to organizational network and security standards

during all stages of implementation. Perform

network upgrades, enhancements, and migrations

as part of real estate or transformation projects. Maintain

accurate documentation

for network configurations, diagrams, and Transition-to-Operations (TTO) deliverables. Conduct

site surveys, installations, and configuration management

, ensuring quality and compliance with design specifications. Support

ongoing maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization

of enterprise network environments.

Qualifications



Minimum

4 years of hands-on experience

in network design, implementation, and support--preferably in real estate, facilities, or large-scale infrastructure programs. Strong understanding of both

passive and active network components

and their integration into physical environments.

Technical Skills



Deep knowledge of

networking fundamentals

: routing, switching, VLANs, subnetting, STP, VTP, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP. Proven experience in

network design and implementation

, including

high-availability and SD-WAN solutions

. Hands-on expertise with major platforms such as

Cisco, Arista, and Palo Alto Networks

. Familiarity with

cybersecurity concepts

including firewalls, VPNs, and secure network architecture. Scripting and automation experience (e.g.,

Python, Ruby, or Perl

) for network process automation. Ability to interpret

site plans and MEP diagrams

to design physical and logical network layouts for office, industrial, or mixed-use environments. Experience across the

full project lifecycle

--from requirements and planning through deployment and operational transition.

Soft Skills



Excellent

verbal and written communication skills

for effective collaboration with cross-functional and global teams. Strong

problem-solving and analytical skills

with attention to detail. Ability to

manage multiple priorities

and perform effectively in fast-paced, dynamic environments.

Education & Certifications



Bachelor's degree in

Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline

. Professional certifications preferred:

Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)

Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)

CompTIA Network+

Advanced certifications such as

CCIE

or

JNCIE-ENT

are an advantage.
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 250.00-275.00 per day

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Aberdeen AB12 3LG
