Asda Technology are currently looking for an experienced Network Engineer with a strong track record of project delivery.
The Asda FUTURE Programme represents the biggest retail transformation the UK has ever known. As Asda separate from Walmart, we are building a completely new, world-class retail technology landscape, All of these technologies need to be built upon a brand-new, secure, network infrastructure.
Your Role This is a Network Engineer position, and as such a successful candidate will interface with the Asda architecture team to help frame technical requirements, produce high-level design documentation, and translate this into detailed low-level designs and change implementation plans. A successful candidate will have a track record of implementing network changes in an enterprise environment. This role requires a good knowledge of routing, switching and firewalls with an emphasis on technologies such as, VRF, BGP, SD-WAN, Data Centre Technologies, Network Automation, NGFW. Experience with cloud platforms and load balancing is desirable.
A collaborative work ethos and good communication skills are required as the network team work closely with other teams who depend on it for connectivity. Participation of On call rota available but not mandatory.
About You

• A good knowledge of complex routing and switching environments evidenced with CCNA/JNCIA-Junos or equivalent level certifications and knowledge.
• Practical experience with interior and exterior routing protocols.
• Practical experience within the datacentre environment.
• Practical experience with NGFW (FortiManager and FortiANalyzer is desirable)
• Experience with a wide range of vendors (Cisco, Fortinet, F5, Juniper, Aruba and Extreme Networks is desirable)
• Experience of Network automation and Infrastructure as Code delivery is desirable.
• Experience of working in a large enterprise, delivering on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to translate requirements into technical designs.
• Ability to produce high-quality network documentation & diagrams.
