The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability across our organisation. Responsibilities



Design, deploy, and support enterprise-level

network infrastructure

, including LAN, WAN, VPN, MPLS, and SD-WAN solutions. Configure and manage

Cisco routers

,

Cisco ASA

,

Juniper

, and other networking hardware to optimise network performance and security. Implement and maintain

firewalls

,

IDS/IPS

,

encryption protocols

, and

SSL/TLS

to safeguard organisational data. Manage

network protocols

such as TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, EIGRP, IPsec, DHCP, DNS, LDAP, NFS, SFTP, SSH, and SNMP for seamless connectivity. Support

network security

initiatives including

PKI

,

Cisco ISE

,

authentication mechanisms

, and access controls. Monitor network performance using tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, Splunk, and SolarWinds to proactively identify issues. Conduct regular system administration tasks on various operating systems including Windows Server, Linux (Debian, CentOS, Ubuntu), Solaris, macOS, and openSUSE. Automate network management processes using scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash (Unix shell), Python, and Ansible. Oversee virtualisation environments like VMware vSphere and Citrix to optimise resource utilisation. Collaborate with DevOps teams to implement cloud solutions on platforms such as AWS and Azure while ensuring high availability and disaster recovery strategies are in place. Participate in network installation projects involving hardware setup and configuration for new sites or upgrades. Maintain documentation of network architecture diagrams and configurations in accordance with ITIL best practices.

Qualifications



Proven experience in computer networking with a strong understanding of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP), network protocols (TCP/IP), load balancing solutions, and high availability architectures. Extensive knowledge of network security principles including VPNs (IPsec), SSL/TLS encryption standards, SSO integrations, IDS/IPS systems, and firewalls (Cisco ASA). Hands-on experience with Cisco IOS/IOS-XE devices as well as Juniper or other enterprise-grade equipment. Proficiency in managing cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure along with virtualisation technologies like VMware vSphere or Citrix. Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, Bash) for automation purposes; experience with DevOps tools like Ansible is advantageous. Strong understanding of system administration across multiple operating systems including Windows Server environments and Linux distributions such as Debian or CentOS. Knowledge of network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds or PRTG; ability to analyse logs via Splunk or similar platforms. Relevant certifications such as Cisco CCNP/CCIE Enterprise or Security are highly desirable. Excellent problem-solving skills coupled with the ability to communicate complex technical information effectively.
