Proposed Mount Location:

Objective
Install and commission a Starlink system on the north-facing building, ensuring a clear line of sight to the sky and a secure, weatherproof cable route to the Server Room.
Site Overview
Building faces North
Clear open area in front (~250 metres), no physical obstructions except low hedgeServer Room is located behind the window with the light on (refer to site photo / North Elevation)
External wall construction: brick / masonry
Tools & Equipment Required (Engineer to Bring)
Installation Tools
Hammer drill (masonry capable)
Long masonry drill bits (suitable for external wall penetration)
Full screw / driver bit set
Adjustable spanner / socket set
Fixings & Materials
Concrete / masonry wall plugs
Concrete-rated screws or anchor bolts (for Starlink mount)
Exterior-grade silicone sealant (weatherproof)
Cable clips or conduit (as required for neat external routing)
Cabling & Commissioning
Cable fishing / pulling tools
Laptop with Ethernet port (mandatory for initial testing)
Ethernet cable (short patch lead)
Pre?Installation Checks
Visually confirm mounting location is clear and structurally sound.
Ensure no overhead services or internal obstructions behind drilling area.
Confirm shortest and cleanest cable route to the Server Room.
Confirm safe working access (ladder / lift if required).
Installation Steps
5.1 Mount Installation
Position Starlink mount on the external wall at the agreed location.
Mark drilling points using the mount template.
Drill fixing holes using hammer drill and appropriate masonry bit.
Insert wall plugs / anchors.
Secure mount firmly using concrete-rated fixings.
Ensure mount is level and rigid.
Dish Installation
Attach Starlink dish to the mounted bracket.
Ensure dish has full freedom to auto?align.
Do not manually force dish orientation.
Cable Entry
Drill cable entry hole from exterior towards Server Room.
Insert Starlink cable carefully using cable fishing tools if required.
Avoid sharp bends or cable damage.
Once cable is passed through, seal the hole externally and internally using silicone sealant.
Internal Setup (Server Room)
Route cable neatly to the Starlink router / power unit.
Avoid running parallel to high?voltage cables.
Secure cable using clips or trunking if needed.
Connect Starlink router and power on system.
Commissioning & Testing
Connect laptop via Ethernet to Starlink router.
Confirm Starlink boots and dish aligns automatically.
Verify:
Internet connectivity
Stable latency
Acceptable download / upload speeds
Record basic speed test results.
Final Checks
Mount securely fixed
Cable entry fully sealed and weatherproof
No exposed or loose cabling
Router powered and operational
Area left clean and safe
Handover
Inform site contact that installation is complete
Provide basic guidance on Starlink operation
Report any issues or limitations immediately
