This role requires the engineer to rack and fibre patch 1U edge switches.
Engineer needs to
Perform fiber optic cable patching, splicing, and termination in data centers, central offices, and remote sites.
Label and document all fiber patch panels and cabling routes.
Perform routine inspections and cleaning of fiber connectors using appropriate tools.
Test and troubleshoot fiber connections using OTDR, power meters, and other diagnostic tools.
Read and interpret network diagrams, schematics, and construction blueprints.
Maintain accurate records of all patching and splicing work.
Ensure compliance with safety procedures, company standards, and industry best practices.
Collaborate with network engineers and field technicians during new installations or troubleshooting.
Perform after-hours work or on-call duties as needed for emergencies or scheduled maintenance.
Must have valid UK work rights
Engineer must have a valid CSCS card
Engineer must carry the necessary toolbox to carry out the racking and fibre patching
Should be able to attend onsite at Wolverhampton on 28th and 29th of July
