We are looking for a skilled and motivated
Network Maintenance Craftsperson - Mechanical
to become a key part of our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the
maintenance, repair, and installation
of pressure reduction installations and associated assets across our network.
You will also play a vital role in supporting the
design, installation, and commissioning
of new and replacement assets, working closely with our Capital Projects team to help deliver high-quality infrastructure improvements.
A full UK driving licence is a requirement for this role
In this role you will
Carry out decommissioning, installation, commissioning, validation, modification, and repair activities in line with relevant policies, procedures, and legal requirements. Ensure all work delivers optimal technical performance and equipment reliability, while maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance
Prepare reports and provide information, guidance and advice to stakeholders and management and third-party customers on technical matters
Support or lead activities such as plant inspections, network surveys, and the design and costing of network modifications. Prepare detailed technical specifications and cost estimates to support project planning and delivery
Maintain accurate records of activities to satisfy Maintenance and Capital Projects, NGN, third party and legislative requirements
Work towards all perimetry requirements and procedures including complex non-routine operations and routine operations affecting the NGN network
Ensure a high standard of customer and stakeholder service
We are looking for
Hands-on experience in fault finding, repair, and commissioning of pressure reduction installations and pre-heating systems, including component replacement and system optimisation
Familiarity with hazardous area operations, accurate completion of technical documentation, and the ability to manage spares and materials to support maintenance activities
Self-motivated, capable of planning your own activities and be able to use IT in the field for work reporting
Strong problem-solver and an analytical-thinker with excellent communication skills
Proactive attitude and a strong team player whilst also having the ability to work on your own initiative and comfortable with lone working out of hours
Operational and/or project management experience in a relevant field
Knowledge of codes of practice, engineering instructions and safety requirements
Qualifications & Requirements
EUSR Gas passport, SCO 1, 2 and 4, 5 Years' experience on gas distribution systems, TEM 2,4 and IOSH
Experience of working on pressure reduction equipment above and below 7 bar
Relevant mechanical maintenance or pressure control training City & Guilds or NVQ III
