Water Recycling is at the heart of our operations. The key services that we are responsible for are delivered by our in-house, highly skilled workforce. We collect and treat the water that customers have used, returning it to the environment via rivers and coastal outlets. Our network includes 76,000 kilometres of sewers which feed over 1,000 water recycling centres. What will you be doing?
The WR Network Manager will be responsible for the operational management of the Water Recycling Network team and the Water Recycling collection system from customers' homes to the receiving Water Recycling Centre, at optimal cost whilst complying with all relevant statutory requirements and company policies.
Whilst doing this, you will be required to deliver excellent customer service and will be passionate about avoiding any adverse effects on the environment, customers, and downstream treatment processes.
Duties will include:Lead and inspire a team of 20+ Field Technicians and Senior Network Technicians, with a Support Manager to achieve targets while maintaining a "Safer Every Day" and great customer service mentality.
Have great stakeholder management skills and be able to build relationships at all levels, including presenting to MPs, Councils and the Southend Water Summit.
Reducing significant pollution incidents , Internal and external floodings. All while placing the customer as the heart of what we do.
Financial control to achieve the successful delivery of a large budget (circa 3m)
Ensuring that planned and reactive work are carried out safely and effectively to collect and convey sewage, whilst meeting all regulatory, LoS requirements and avoiding adverse effects on downstream treatment processes
As asset owner for sewers and rising mains, collaborating and supporting Maintenance colleagues to ensure effective operations across catchments as well as effective maintenance and investment
Effectively managing operational incidents and escalating appropriately
Building, adapting and reviewing planned work schedules (PPM and MST's) to ensure assets are maintained to prevent incidents within confines of budget
Ensuring assets are maintained in accordance with standards, service levels and company policy
Critically reviewing asset history and job data to enhance infrastructure performance, service and efficiency
Identifying capital investment needs and promote business cases.
What does it take to be a Network Manager?A Strong ability to lead is essential, especially while juggling multiple demands from the business. Communication and building collaborative relationships with your team, wider Anglian Water teams, our Contractors and the Environment Agency is also essential to the role.
Management of operational service provision, suppliers, and contractors
Professional qualification in technical or management arena is desirable
Demonstrable experience in the management of teams in an operational environment
Experience of H&S legislation and its application in the workplace
Practical experience of the operation of Water Recycling collection infrastructure is desirable
Experience of financial management is desirable
Strong communicator who can liaise with both internal and external customers including regulatory bodies
Working knowledge of the key legislation impacting WR Networks (e.g., H&SAWA, WIA, NRSWA, EPA) is desirable but not essential
Full driving licence
Competent user of IT
