? We're looking for a dedicated

Network Technician

to join our

Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I)

team within the

Energy Operations

directorate. In this hands-on role, you'll be responsible for maintaining, modifying, and repairing E&I systems across our gas transportation assets, ensuring safe and efficient operations across the network.

Location Requirement:

To support our operational needs, we are specifically looking for candidates

based in or around Leicester, Nottingham, Bourne, Northampton, Boston, or Kettering

. Regular travel is part of the role, so a

Full UK Driving Licence

is essential.

Asset Health

- Assess and report on the condition of E&I equipment and systems.

Maintenance & Repairs

- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance to ensure system reliability.

Timely Delivery

- Complete work efficiently and in line with statutory requirements.

Standby Support

- Participate in the E&I standby rota to maintain service continuity.

Contractor Oversight

- Supervise third-party work to ensure safety and quality standards.

Team Collaboration

- Work closely with colleagues across Cadent to support operational excellence.

What you'll bring:

You're a skilled technician with a strong background in electrical and instrumentation systems and a commitment to safety and quality.

Experience

- Proven experience in an Electrical / Instrumentation / GQ&M environment, including inspection and testing of systems on gas pressure reduction sites.

Technical Knowledge

- Familiarity with E&I technical standards, maintenance procedures, and relevant codes of practice.

Legislation Awareness

- Understanding of BS7671, EAWR, and the Health and Safety at Work Act.

Qualifications

- + 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671) + City & Guilds 2394/95 or BTEC or equivalent in Instrumentation and Controls
+ Approved apprenticeship

Certifications

- COMPEX EX01-04 preferred but not essential.

Team Player

- Able to work independently and collaboratively with a proactive approach.
