A private not-for-profit organisation is looking to recruit a full-time Neurorehabilitation Specialist to join a multi-disciplinary team delivering specialised neurological rehabilitation and pioneering exercise-based therapy programmes at our outpatient gym-based centre at our Neurokinex Gatwick location (Crawley). Position Overview:
The Neurorehabilitation Specialist is responsible for the assessment, planning, and delivery of person-centred, activity-based rehabilitation (ABR) to individuals with neurological conditions. This includes conducting initial assessments, formulating and delivering personalised and goal-driven rehabilitation sessions, documenting client progress, preparing reports where necessary, and liaising with families and external agencies.
The role also includes ongoing clinical development through the internal 7 Pillar Framework, designed to support and advance clinical reasoning, technical skill, and professional conduct within neurorehabilitation practice.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assessment and Planning
Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' neurological, musculoskeletal, and cognitive presentations.
Identify and prioritise individualised goals in collaboration with the client, carers, and relevant professionals.
Develop and regularly review structured, evidence-based rehabilitation plans.
2. Delivery of Rehabilitation
Deliver 1:1 rehabilitation sessions using principles of activity-based rehabilitation and neuroplasticity.
Adapt and progress interventions based on client response and evolving needs.
Maintain safety, dignity, and engagement of clients throughout the rehab process.
3. Documentation and Reporting
Complete clear, concise, and timely documentation of all clinical sessions and communications in accordance with organisational standards.
Contribute to formal written reports (e.g. progress reviews, discharge summaries) as required.
4. Communication and Liaison
Communicate effectively with clients, families, carers, and external stakeholders.
Liaise with medical professionals, case managers, funders, and community providers as needed.
Engage in team discussions and multidisciplinary planning to ensure coordinated care.
5. Service Delivery and Professional Conduct
Contribute to the continuous improvement of the service through feedback, evaluation, and reflective practice.
Ensure professional, ethical, and safe practice in all aspects of service delivery.
Participate in clinical supervision, team meetings, and service development activities.
6. Education, training and research
Educate clients and their family about their conditions and rehabilitation process
Contribute to the team's professional growth by delivering in-house training to peers on topics within their expertise
Stay up to date with the latest research and advancements in neurorehabilitation
Contribute to the development and implementation of new techniques and protocols.

Qualifications and Experience:
Required Skills:
Relevant degree level qualification in any
Exercise, Rehabilitation or Sport related programme
Hands-on experience in rehab and/or exercise (at least 12 months)
High energy and enthusiastic individual
Good interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
Excellent team player
Registration with the appropriate professional body (as applicable)
Clinical experience in neurological rehabilitation or related field
Desirable:
Knowledge and application of activity-based rehabilitation
Knowledge and application of Functional Electrical Stimulation and or Wide Pulse Stimulation
Experience integrating strength and conditioning principles into neurological rehab
Familiarity with community-based or outpatient neurorehabilitation services
