About the Role
Nevly is seeking a data engineer (the "
Data Engineer
" or the "
Role
") to join its Nevly Money Rent Advance (the "
Product
") team (the "
Product
Team
"), which is focused on designing, building and delivering the Product including its set of proprietary underwriting models. The Data Engineer will be responsible for designing, constructing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and architectures. This role will involve working closely with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure that data is accessible and usable for decision-making processes.
Position Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines to support data ingestion and processing.
Design and implement data storage solutions that ensure data integrity and accessibility.
Collaborate with a cross-functional team including machine learning developers, data scientists and data analysts, to understand data requirements and provide necessary data sets.
Monitor system performance and troubleshoot data-related issues to ensure optimal functionality.
Implement data governance and security practices to protect sensitive information.
Optimize data delivery and processes to improve performance and reduce latency.
Document data workflows, architecture and processes for future reference and compliance.
Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies to continually improve data related practices.
Position Requirements:
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Typescript and Scala.
Deep experience with data lakehouse solutions as well as AWS Step Functions (Glue, Glue Crawler and Glue Data Catalog); Amazon S3; Athena; Quick Sight and Sage Maker.
Strong knowledge of SQL and large-scale database management systems.
Deep prior experience with ETL processes and tools.
Prior experience as a data engineer with a preference given to prior experience developing big data machine learning | AI services.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
BSc in Computer Science, Mathematics or similar discipline; Master's degree is a plus.
