Job Title: Contract basis New-Build Surveyor

Job Summary:

We are recruiting for a residential new-build property surveyor as contractor to operate in Glasgow/Edinburgh. We are strictly looking for a candidate with a RICS-accredited qualification (e.g. Building Surveying degree or SAVA course) either completed or soon to be completed.

As a home-based role working as a contractor, you'll enjoy the flexibility of not being tied to a traditional office environment: Each day will bring a different site for inspection, providing you with a varied and exciting work experience.

The working days are flexible to suit what work you are willing to take on. E.g. whilst typically surveys are carried out Monday-Friday, there is flexibility to work weekends and there is flexibility for candidates to treat this as a part time second line of work rather than considering it a full time commitment.

The two main areas that we are looking for Surveys to be carried out are around Glasgow/Edinburgh, so we are recruiting 1 or 2 candidates based in either area.

Responsibilities:

Conduct thorough snagging surveys using our bespoke apps, inspecting various aspects of the property's quality of finish, from brickwork to plumbing. Stay up to date with building regulations and NHBC tolerances to ensure compliance further to training provided Communicate with upcoming clients to confirm arrival times and promptly answer any queries from existing clients. Conduct thermal heat loss surveys in the winter months (training and qualification provided).

Qualifications and Skills:

A recognised qualification in building surveying such as BSc/MSc/SAVA level 6 or a similar level of building surveying qualification. Candidates at the end of their studies will also be considered. Strong attention to detail and a diligent work ethic. Familiarity with building regulations and NHBC tolerances is advantageous. Experience using an app for issue management is preferred.

Pay per Survey (uncapped): tiered depending on property size. To be explained in interview. Flexible working hours with a home-based setup.
