Ceramics Instructor



Minstead, Near Lyndhurst, New Forest.



37.5 hours per week



Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm



Salary: 25,642.50 per annum

We're looking for a Ceramics Instructor to lead meaningful, hands-on sessions for adults with neuro diverse disabilities at New Forest Day Opportunities. This is more than just a teaching role -- it's a chance to help people express themselves, build confidence, and develop real-life skills through the power of clay.

You'll be running engaging ceramics sessions in a fully equipped studio, guiding people in making beautiful, high-quality items -- some of which are sold in our shops as part of our growing social enterprise. You'll work closely with individuals and support staff to create a warm, inclusive and person-centred environment where creativity can thrive.

The Role:



Plan, deliver and evaluate engaging ceramics sessions in partnership with the people we support, encouraging creativity, participation, and achievement. Develop and maintain the ceramics studio, ensuring equipment, tools and materials are safe, clean, and well-organised. Work with the team to develop a range of products suitable for sale in Minstead Trust outlets, supporting our social enterprise aims. Provide direction and guidance to volunteers and support workers assisting in ceramics activity delivery. Assess and record individual progress and outcomes on Nourish, recognising achievements and identifying next steps. Maintain accurate, timely records and reports in line with organisational expectations. Identify and manage risks in a proactive and positive way to ensure the safety of all participants. Support transportation of people we support when required, including driving a minibus.

What are we looking for?



Experience in delivering structured creative sessions, particularly ceramics, to adults or community groups. The ability to inspire, teach and support adults with learning disabilities An advocate for inclusion, independence and opportunity for all Great people skills and a flexible, can-do attitude Someone with a full driving licence (essential for this role)
