We have an exciting new graduate veterinary surgeon opportunity at Clifton Lodge Veterinary Group. We are a small animal practice with 12,000 clients therefore there is plenty of interesting medical and surgical cases. We have close links with surrounding practices with specialist vets, overnight care, and more advanced equipment. We also have a visiting vet who comes to the practices to perform and teach advanced ultrasound (including echocardiograms). We encourage case continuity for both the patient's benefit and the vets to be able to see cases through.



Our customer care team are all working towards their BVRA awards. We have also introduced a separate call handling team, so our front of house team can concentrate on giving the best customer care.

The Team:




Clifton Lodge is a well-established practice that has been providing veterinary care to the region since 1950. We are a small animal only practice spread across 4 sites. The main site is located in the seaside town of Hartlepool, with surrounding branches in Horden, Billingham and Sedgefield. We are fortunate to have access not only to some outstanding beaches but also a stone's throw away from beautiful countryside and the historic cities of Durham and York.



We are a welcoming team, led by our clinical directors Zoe and Christo and practice manager Donna. Our veterinary team include certificate holders in surgery, dentistry, imaging, cardiology and minimally invasive surgery. We also have a lovely and dedicated team of RVNs, VCAs and ANAs which also includes certificate holders in medicine and anaesthesia. We will soon be looking to relocate our main surgery in Hartlepool and to expand our team accordingly. We have exciting plans to include CT in our new site. We are already well equipped at all our sites including ultrasound, digital and dental x-ray and endoscopy/laparoscopy.



We are happy to fund certificates, if this is something you would be interested in later into your career.

The Role:



Starting salary 34,500 for new graduates, there is possible accommodation available with rent paid for (not bills) in the flat above our practice. This will only be a temporary arrangement until you have had enough time to find your own accommodation. Enrolment in to the VetPartners Graduate Development Programme 4 days a week 8.30am - 18.30pm, with 1 Saturday in 4 Option to work extra days or night shifts at Wilson's for extra pay No OOH or Bank Holidays


As you will be part of the Graduate Development Programme at VetPartners, you will be able to embrace a blended learning approach of training days, in-house mentoring, CPD, and clinical practice, creating a varied platform for you to grow and develop as a Veterinary Surgeon. You will be offered both supportive 1-to-1 and group mentoring sessions, for engagement and interaction, as you develop an invaluable skillset. From surgical/medical experience, to enjoying teamwork, providing refined customer service, and gaining business knowledge to support the security of great patient care.
