Role: Product Development Assistant
We're looking for a tenacious and creative individual with a flair for food innovation to join our growing NPD (New Product Development) team. This is a hands-on role that sits at the heart of our mission to create delicious, ethical food that reflects our values. We're a growing team and alongside working in a brand new office / butchery environment, you'll also get the opportunity to work in our new fully equipped NPD kitchen.
This a new role as part of our expansion business growth, with a six month initial contract looking to be moved into a permanent position for the right person. Although this is a full time position, a part time position will be considered.
The position is available from mid October.
Key Responsibilities
Support the NPD department in sourcing & developing new and existing products from concept to launch.
Liaise closely with Purchasing, Technical, and other key stakeholders to drive innovation and efficiency.
Conduct category data analysis to identify trends and opportunities.
Order samples and liaise with suppliers to source ingredients that align with our ethical sourcing standards.
Assist in implementing product changes and improvements.
Organise and participate in tasting panels and food photography shoots.
Maintain accurate records including supplier specifications and development documentation.
Collaborate with technical team members to ensure compliance and quality standards.
What We're Looking For
Ideally minimum 1 year experience in product development, food manufacturing or online retail product administration.
A genuine passion for food and sustainability.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and spot trends using Excel, data reporting and other software.
Creative flair and a love for delicious, seasonal food.
A proactive, can-do attitude and willingness to get stuck in.
