Overview

The

NPD Assistant

plays a key role in developing new and innovative products for Vita Manufacture's clients. This position supports the NPD Manager in managing formulation, documentation, sample preparation, and communication with clients and suppliers. You'll work closely with production, quality, and sales teams to ensure that new products are both commercially viable and compliant with all regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Product Development Support:

Assist in the formulation and development of new supplement products (capsules, powders, tablets, gummies, etc.).

Documentation:

Prepare product specifications, raw material sheets, and sample records in line with GMP and customer requirements.

Sample Preparation:

Weigh and blend materials for lab samples, ensuring accuracy and traceability.

Cross-Department Collaboration:

Work with the Sales and Production teams to ensure product feasibility and cost alignment.

Supplier Communication:

Liaise with ingredient suppliers to source samples, obtain COAs, and verify product data.

Compliance & Quality:

Ensure all formulations and documentation adhere to MHRA, GMP, and ISO22000 standards.

Continuous Improvement:

Support the NPD Manager in researching new ingredients, trends, and process improvements.

What You'll Bring

A strong interest in nutrition, supplements, or pharmaceutical manufacturing. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Strong communication skills (written and verbal). Analytical mindset with good problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications & Experience

Minimum GCSEs (Science-based subjects preferred) or equivalent qualification. Degree or diploma in Food Science, Nutrition, Chemistry, or related field is an advantage. Prior experience in an NPD, R&D, or manufacturing environment is desirable. Understanding of product formulation and GMP standards is beneficial.

Working Environment

On-site role within a modern supplement manufacturing facility. Collaborative environment between NPD, Quality, and Production teams. Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM.
