We are looking for a passionate and experienced
Children's Home Manager
to lead a brand-new 3-bed
SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health)
children's home in Barnsley. This exciting opportunity is part of our expanding family-run organisation, which includes a well-established Independent SEMH School in Doncaster.
About the Role:
As Children's Home Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping a nurturing, trauma-informed environment for young people with SEMH needs. You'll have the autonomy to lead the home, supported by our business management team and Senior Leadership Team, ensuring alignment with our school's ethos and practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the children's home.
Implement and uphold trauma-informed and relational care practices.
Collaborate with the school's leadership team to ensure consistency across settings.
Promote a nurturing, family-like environment through shared activities and supported leisure time.
Ensure all residents receive high-quality care and education, supported by EHCPs and access to in-house therapeutic services.
About You:
Proven experience in managing residential care settings, ideally within SEMH or similar environments.
Strong understanding of trauma-informed and relational approaches to behaviour support.
Committed to creating a safe, supportive, and enriching home for young people

Please note:
This home will not accommodate high-risk individuals or those requiring single occupancy. All young people will have an EHCP with a primary need of SEMH, and will attend our school.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage daily operations, ensuring a high-quality, trauma-informed and nurturing residential environment within a child-focused organisation dedicated to achieving the best outcomes for children.
Provide inspirational leadership, mentoring your team to deliver exceptional care.
Ensure full compliance with OFSTED standards and all relevant regulations.
Collaborate effectively with More Than Ed Ind. School, external agencies, families, and professionals.
Develop, implement, and regularly review personalised care plans.
Continuously monitor and promote the wellbeing, safety, and development of each child.
Work alongside our in-house therapists and psychologists from within the school.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years' recent experience as an Ofsted Registered Manager in children's residential care in a 'Good' or 'Outstanding' home.
NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
Solid understanding of SEMH, the SEND Code of Practice, and other relevant childcare legislation.
Dynamic and reflective attitude, with the ability to respond compassionately to the diverse and changing needs of the young people.
Exceptional and strategic leadership, organisational, and decision-making skills.
Genuine passion for improving the lives of young people.
Full UK Driving Licence.
Preferably educated to Degree Level.
