PART TIME - 3 DAYS PER WEEK, WEDNESDAY TO FRIDAY.

You\'ll be responsible for leading the Service Attribute process within TCDS research working group to support early failure mode avoidance process, ahead of vehicle or forward model programs. To ensure new technologies are delivered efficiently, effectively and robust manner to satisfy our downstream customers, NSC, importers, retailers and end users - customers who purchase and drive our products, plus legal regulatory and/or corporate needs.

You will also support the wider customer service business within JLR Unit Process development, Identify the correct requirements are aligned correctly for each gateway thus meeting the business expectations, example of Electrical architecture and self-driving vehicle features.

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • Review new technology projects with senior service managers ahead of gateway submissions to ensure risks assessments and challenges are fully understood to support future downstream planning
  • Capture service requirements to ensure the customer needs are considered for total life costs, not just warranty period, technology which won\'t damage the reputation of the brands as reason not to buy, difficult and expensive to repair
  • Benchmark new technology with other premium OEMs to identify competitive service targets when possible, use associated industry data from truck, bus transportation
  • Ensuring service component costs and labour times are available at \'concept ready\' gateway
  • Report project status and risks in Service Commercial group as required to escalate
  • Liaise with other departments as \'fact holders\' marketing, diagnostics, parts pricing, warranty, retailer special tooling and retailer training
  • Responsible for driving improvements in service via lessons learnt from previous new technologies introduction
  • Continually develop productive working relationships with key cross functional teams e.g parts pricing teams, warranty cost recovery teams
WHAT YOU\'LL NEED

Essential:
  • Experience interfacing with the Automotive Service sector
  • Significant knowledge of vehicle technology including new trends ADAS, Connectivity, Electrification, Health and safety standards, Mobility Services business models
  • Detailed understanding of automotive quality and continuous improvement process
  • Proficient in presenting issues at multiple levels in the business to drive understanding, provide resolutions and meet objectives
  • Significant knowledge of CAD and related standards and tools
Desirable:
  • Some knowledge of the legislative requirements and the influence of the aftermarket
  • Significant knowledge and knowhow in a number of vehicle features or commodities, ideally in new and emerging technology such as ADAS and electrification
  • Significant understanding of franchised retailers, their needs and drivers
  • Some knowledge and a desire to embrace and drive future industry standards and technology
  • Some commercial acumen for automotive aftersales
  • Degree or relevant equivalent experience preferred
