DM News Plus is launching a 24-hour international English-language news channel from the heart of Manchester -- the first of its kind to be based in the North of England. Broadcasting across Sky and other global platforms, we are building a fast-paced, high-standard newsroom committed to impartial, impactful journalism.

We are seeking dedicated and experienced

News Editors & Scriptwriters

to join our editorial team. You will play a key role in planning daily news output, overseeing editorial quality, and writing sharp, broadcast-ready scripts for presenters and news bulletins.

Key Responsibilities



Plan, structure, and manage the editorial flow of daily news bulletins Assign stories to reporters and video journalists and support their editorial development Edit and proofread scripts for clarity, accuracy, grammar, and style Write high-quality copy for presenters, including headlines, cues, transitions, and voiceover scripts Fact-check all content to ensure accuracy and compliance with OFCOM guidelines Collaborate with journalists, producers, and digital teams to maintain editorial consistency Contribute to the creation of news packages, including writing and script shaping Conduct regular editorial meetings and contribute to content strategy Monitor breaking news and update rundowns and scripts accordingly Write copy for promotional material and summaries as required

Experience & Skills Required



Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Media, or a related field (required) Minimum 2 years of experience in a newsroom or live broadcast setting Proven writing and copy-editing skills with a strong command of English Strong editorial judgment and news sense, with a keen eye for accuracy and balance Familiarity with OFCOM broadcasting standards and UK media law Experience working with presenters and shaping on-air delivery Ability to manage multiple stories and meet tight deadlines Collaborative mindset with excellent communication and leadership skills Creative writing experience is a plus, but not essential Proficiency in Google Docs, Word, or newsroom scripting tools (e.g., ENPS or iNews)

This is a

fully office-based role

in Manchester City Centre You must have the right to work in the UK Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends or late hours, may be required due to the 24-hour nature of the channel

Salary:

24000 - 30000 (Based on Experience)

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 24,000.00-30,000.00 per year

Schedule:

Monday to Friday Weekend availability
Work Location: In person
