We are currently recruiting for NHS 111 Call Handlers to join our Team in our 111 Contact Centre in Taunton.
About us
We are Herts Urgent Care (HUC), a leading Social Enterprise providing patient-focused primary and urgent care services within our local communities. We support 4.5 million people with vital NHS 111 and Out-of-Hours GP services, 24/7, 365 days a year.
As a not-for-profit healthcare organisation, we can offer you a rewarding career that fits around family life, studies or other work commitments, with structured progression and plenty of opportunities for learning and development.
As an integral part of the NHS family, changing and saving people's lives, you'll be proud to tell people what you do.
The role
Our NHS Call Handlers play a vital role in supporting our patients, acting as the first point of contact for anyone calling NHS 111. With the support of clinicians and NHS Pathways you'll help connect patients with the service that best meets their needs.
Training that gets you ready
We don't expect you to know anything about healthcare before you start. That's why we provide you with six weeks of paid training.
The first four weeks are 9.00am-5.00pm, Monday to Friday. We will teach you everything you need to know step-by-step, in a small group, with all the support you'll need to succeed.
For the final two weeks you'll join our call handling team and will have the chance to try a variety of shifts, with continued access to dedicated support, on-hand whenever you need it.
By the end of the six weeks, you'll have a nationally recognised Pathway qualification, giving you the skills and confidence to assist our patients when they need us most.
