Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to individuals in their homes or care homes. This position requires excellent communication skills and the ability to follow care plans meticulously, ensuring that the needs of our clients are met with dignity and respect. A background in home care is advantageous, but we welcome applicants who are eager to learn and make a difference in the lives of others.

Responsibilities

Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and meal preparation. Support clients in maintaining their independence by encouraging participation in activities and social interactions. Follow individualised care plans to ensure that each client's specific needs are met effectively. Communicate regularly with clients, their families, and healthcare professionals to provide updates on client progress and any concerns. Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in clients' conditions promptly. Drive clients to appointments or social events as required, ensuring their safety during transport. Participate in training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge related to home care practices.

Experience

Previous experience in home care or a similar role is preferred but not essential; we value a willingness to learn and grow within the position. Strong communication skills in English are required for effective interaction with clients and team members. Familiarity with IT systems for record keeping and communication purposes is beneficial. A valid driving licence is advantageous for transporting clients as needed. Experience working within a care home environment is a plus, showcasing an understanding of the unique challenges faced by residents.
