Job Description

Care & Well-being:

To assist residents with personal care activities to include; assistance with showering, bathing, hair washing, hair brushing, oral and denture care, dressing, undressing, continence care, accessing toilet facilities, applying toiletries, face & hand creams, make up and deodorant.

To assess residents needs prior to becoming a permanent resident and play a key role in settling in a new resident.

To ensure that all residents are safe and are able to call for assistance and to respond immediately to residents requiring help.

To assist with resident's continence needs through out the night, including pad changes and accessing continence and toilet facilities.

To assist residents with repositioning during the night in line with their individual care plan.

To provide emotional support to residents when necessary.

To demonstrate friendliness and courtesy to residents and colleagues, ensuring a pleasant and happy atmosphere; promoting the service positively.

Identify and report any residents who are not responding to support, advice, food and/or fluids.

Contribute to end of life care and delivery.

Monitoring & Record keeping:

To record all activities undertaken throughout the shift on the Caredocs electronic system.

To report any changes in the resident's conditions, health, well-being, behaviour or general welfare both verbally to the person in charge and on the Caredocs electronic system.

To attend handover prior to the night duty shift commencing.

To record all accidents/incidents on the Caredocs electronic system and report these to the Responsible Individual/Service Manager.

To deliver a high standard of care whilst maintaining and encouraging individual's independence at all times.

To deliver high standards of care and promote best practice in all duties in line with each resident's personalised care plan.

Adhering to all organisational policies and procedures.

Adhering to Health & Safety guidelines and protocols and encouraging safe working practices and environments. Following and implementing fire safety and personal emergency evacuation procedures and food safety regulations and practices.

Adhering to Safeguarding principles and practices.

Respecting confidentiality of all knowledge and information pertaining to Maes Y Felin Care Home.

Maintaining resident's records accurately and feeding back all relevant and appropriate information.

Supporting all residents in achieving positive outcomes, offering choice and control.

To attend and take note of all training, to maintain continuous professional development, to attend team meetings, formal supervision sessions, annual work performance appraisal meetings and participate in quality assurance monitoring activities.

To deal with difficult situations with sensitivity, with specific regard to individuals who have challenging behaviour and communication difficulties.

To maintain a constant and consistent means of communication amongst the team, embedding an information sharing and duty of candour ethos.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 12.80 per hour
