Overview

Blyford Residential Home seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals in care homes and home care settings, ensuring their well-being and enhancing their quality of life. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of care plans, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility support. Implement and follow care plans tailored to individual needs, ensuring that all care requirements are met. Provide companionship and emotional support to residents, fostering a positive environment. Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in residents' conditions to the appropriate personnel. Support residents with meal preparation and feeding as necessary. Ensure the cleanliness and safety of the living environment by following health and safety protocols. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for each resident.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a care home or home care setting is desirable but not essential. Strong understanding of care plans and the ability to implement them effectively. Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written. Proficient IT skills for maintaining records and documentation. A valid driving licence is preferred for transporting residents when necessary. Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for providing high-quality care are essential attributes for this role.
