Keyworker's role

willing to progress to senior position

To support and encourage residents to live as independently as possible and to provide practical help to those requiring assistance, supervision in their daily tasks

To be able to identify the individual needs of the resident and meet those needs through good care planning and review processes, in conjunction with co workers

To ensure effective communication of information of residents is maintained at all times to include updating of personal records on a daily basis

To take the lead role in the delivery of care and simultaneously supervise and direct co workers to assist in this process to ensure a high-quality service is provided

To support residents with items of shopping they may require with the managers approval

To communicate, liaise with and welcome professionals and care agencies visiting the home

To initiate support and maintain links with families, carers and friends of residents

to ensure that all information remains confidential at all times relating to the home and the residents

To ensure all health & safety procedures are adhered to

To report any health & safety concerns to the management straight away

To ensure all policies and procedures are adhered to at all times

To participate in all mandatory training provided

To be flexible and enthusiastic

Assisting with personal care, washing, bathing, oral care, continence care, nail care, hair care

To monitor skin integrity

Cleaning of wheelchairs and walking frames

Wardrobes and drawers are to be maintained weekly

To liaise with families when new items are required

Laundry duties are to be carried out in the absence of the laundry assistant

Clinical waste is to be removed at the end of each shift

Security checks are to be carried out daily

Person specification Care Assistant

Experience

. Experience not essential as training will be given

. previous experience of a care role helpful, ideally involving care of adults with dementia

. Other caring roles (e. g. caring for family members) may also be valuable

Knowledge

. No formal educational qualifications required

. Basic Literacy skills essential

. Knowledge & respect for confidentiality

. Working knowledge of Health & Safety

. Working knowledge of personal rights and responsibilities

Skills

. Good communication skills

. Ability to work to company guidelines without constant supervision

. Willingness to develop in the care profession

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 12.21-12.25 per hour
