Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care to residents in a care home setting, ensuring their comfort, dignity, and well-being. This role requires effective communication skills and the ability to follow care plans accurately, as well as a willingness to engage with residents on a personal level. A valid driving licence is preferred for this position, as it may involve transporting residents for appointments or activities.

Duties

Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility support. Implement individual care plans tailored to each resident's needs and preferences. Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in residents' conditions to senior staff. Engage residents in social activities and encourage participation in group events to promote mental well-being. Ensure the cleanliness and safety of the living environment by adhering to health and safety regulations. Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, fostering a positive atmosphere within the care home. Utilise IT systems for documentation and communication purposes effectively.

Experience

Previous experience in a care home or home care setting is advantageous but not essential as training will be provided. Strong communication skills in English are required for effective interaction with residents, families, and team members. A background in following care plans and understanding individual needs is beneficial. A valid driving licence is desirable for transporting residents when necessary. Familiarity with IT systems will enhance your ability to document care effectively.
