We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to patients in various settings, including hospitals, nursing homes, and assisted living facilities. This position requires a strong commitment to patient service, with an emphasis on empathy and support for individuals with diverse needs, including those with developmental disabilities and memory care requirements.
Responsibilities
Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
Monitor and record vital signs, ensuring accurate medical documentation.
Provide support for patients with Alzheimer's disease, dementia, and other memory-related conditions.
Administer medications as prescribed and assist with phlebotomy when necessary.
Utilize Hoyer lifts and other assistive devices to ensure patient safety during transfers.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients while adhering to aseptic techniques.
Engage in effective communication with patients, families, and team members regarding care needs and progress.
Uphold HIPAA regulations by ensuring patient confidentiality at all times.
Requirements
Experience in critical care, long-term care, or assisted living settings is preferred.
Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner is advantageous.
Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic life support is essential.
Previous experience working in geriatrics, pediatrics, or home care environments is a plus.
Ability to provide compassionate care for individuals with disabilities or chronic illnesses.
Strong understanding of infection control practices and safety protocols in healthcare settings.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
