Are you passionate about supporting individuals at immediate risk of rough sleeping and making a real impact on the lives of those experiencing homelessness?




Somewhere Safe to Stay, West London collaborates with seven West London boroughs' local authorities and outreach teams. Our team uses their expert knowledge, learning, and proven success to provide rapid response and intervention, ensuring no one has to sleep rough and helping our clients find their next long-term, stable home.


We are looking for a dedicated individual to join us as a

Night Concierge

. In this role, you will work alongside two other night workers and have access to advice and support from the Out-of-Hours management on-call service.


As a Night Concierge, you will:

Be the first point of contact and provide safeguarding to clients during the night. Work independently, handling emergencies, conducting regular health and safety checks on patrols, and monitoring the CCTV system. Report incidents or maintenance issues and communicate any concerns or events to the rest of the team.

Schedule:

A rolling night shift rota, including weekends and bank holidays. Hours: 8pm-8:30am, 3 days one week, 4 days the next.

About You




This role is a fantastic opportunity to learn about working in the charity sector. Many of our specialist workers and managers began their careers in Night Concierge roles.

Experience

: While extensive experience isn't necessary, some experience working or volunteering in a similar environment and an understanding of the issues affecting vulnerable adults with mental health support needs will be beneficial.

Skills

: Good communication and basic IT skills are essential, along with the ability to keep records and follow procedures.

Attributes

: You should be able to interact with clients positively and friendly throughout the night, stay alert and awake during your shift, and use your initiative to remain calm and take appropriate action in various situations.
