Comet Car Hire is seeking a Night Controller with a passion for managing the shift. Are you looking to use your transport supervisory or management experience in a new role? Do you like the sound of working on a large, complex operation with one of the biggest names in logistics?

Job Purpose:

To ensure the smooth allocation and coordination of driver duties and vehicle movements during night operations, in line with service schedules and company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

Allocate and manage driver shifts and vehicle movements efficiently. Ensure drivers are fit for duty and compliant with regulations. Monitor service performance and address operational issues. Communicate with emergency services and internal teams. Handle complaints, lost property, and record-keeping. Prepare next-day rotas and maintain accurate reports. Oversee health & safety and report incidents or hazards. Occasionally perform driving duties and support other controllers.

Essential Skills & Experience:

Experience in transport or control room operations. Understanding of EU & Domestic driving hours. Strong communication, planning, and problem-solving skills. Familiar with Heathrow/London area and Microsoft Office. First Aid and Fire Warden trained (desirable).

Working Hours & Pay:

Night shifts: 4 on / 4 off, 12:30 - 00:30 (12-hour shift)

15.52 per hour

19 days annual leave (incl. bank holidays)
