Job Summary


We are seeking a professional and dynamic Night Manager to oversee hotel operations during the overnight shift. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, excellent guest service abilities, and experience in hospitality management. This role involves supervising staff, ensuring guest satisfaction, and maintaining the smooth running of the hotel during night hours.

Who are we:

An iconic building at the very heart of the city centre, the hotel evokes the famed mid-century 1950s architecture of Coventry and will be a reflection of its former life as a thriving newspaper and printer works. It will feature 88 air-conditioned bedrooms, several of which will be duplex penthouse suites, as well as a stylish restaurant in a glazed courtyard, meeting, event and conference space, alongside a rooftop bar overlooking Belgrade Square.

The ideal candidate would possess outstanding communication skills.

Direct experience with hotel businesses is not required however, though some knowledge of the industry would be beneficial, as would experience of working in a customer experience focused role. The ideal candidate would be both resourceful, efficient, and with an outstanding eye for detail.

This is a full time position working night shifts (five days out of seven) a total of 40 hours per week. The shifts times are 22:30pm - 07:00am

Duties



Supervise and coordinate the activities of hotel staff working during the night shift, ensuring high standards of service and safety. Oversee guest check-ins and check-outs, resolving any issues promptly to maintain guest satisfaction. Monitor security procedures and ensure the safety of guests, staff, and hotel property throughout the night. Handle guest complaints or concerns with professionalism and efficiency, providing solutions or escalating as necessary. Manage administrative tasks such as reporting, record keeping, and cash handling in compliance with hotel policies. Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations across all areas of the hotel. Conduct regular inspections of public areas, rooms, and facilities to uphold cleanliness and safety standards. Assist with human resources functions including scheduling, training, and performance evaluations when required. Assist all guests in a sincere and courteous manner, wherever possible going the extra mile to ensure guest satisfaction. Deals with guests promptly upon arrival and departure, as per Company Standards for check in and out procedures. Demonstrates a working knowledge of all services and facilities of the hotel, as well as local area. Therefore, ensuring our guests are assisted effectively. Professionally and competently operates the telephone system in line with both operating and Company Standards. Managing Health & Safety procedures during the night shift Hotel cleaning duties of conference rooms and public area Limited Food & Beverage service To ensure a professional appearance and manner to all visitors, resulting in positive PR both internally and externally.

Qualifications



Proven supervising experience within a hospitality or hotel environment. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively. Excellent guest service skills with a focus on creating positive experiences for guests. Previous hotel experience is preferred; familiarity with hospitality standards is advantageous. Human resources knowledge including staff management and conflict resolution is desirable. Organisational skills to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently during overnight hours.
