Job Description

The Flour Pot Bakery is a family owned independent artisan bakery in Portslade (Brighton & Hove), specialising in long fermented sourdough, yeasted breads and viennoiserie. We serve our own Flour Pot shops across East Sussex and a growing wholesale customer base that appreciate the best quality handcrafted products.

This is a full-time position and the role is 5 nights per week. Shifts are usually between 6-8 hours with an earliest start time of 6pm and the latest finish time being 3am.

Your duties will involve the following:

Slicing all bread according to shop and wholesale requirements. This must be done methodically and accurately. Packing all shop orders accurately. This is a key part of your job and you will be responsible for packing up all the bread / rolls / pastries for all of our cafes and wholesale customers. Understanding the packing sheets and the delivery route documents is important. Organisational skills, attention to detail and a really professional attitude is crucial. Organising and cleaning of the bakery during and after the packing and slicing has been complete
We are looking for someone that fits these criteria:

Hard working and highly organised Physically able to carry out the duties as some lifting will be required Have a great attention to detail Meet deadline efficiently Excellent command of written and spoken English as a large part of the role will rely on this You will also be responsible for locking up the bakery when you leave, so the responsibility for the safety and security of the business will be reliant on your careful and considered closedown. This is a great opportunity to work in a busy artisan bakery, and we would expect you to have bags of enthusiasm and energy. Availability to work at weekends is expected. You must have your own transport or be able to get here easily by public transport. The potential to learn other skills for the right applicant could well be available to the right candidates. Please note that applicants must be over the age of 18 years, due to the working hours (working after midnight).

Pay: 12.50 per hour

Expected hours: 25 - 35 per week
