Job Summary
We are seeking
dedicated Night Security Guards
to join our growing operations in Cannock. This role is vital to ensuring the
safety, security, and operational integrity
of our facilities during overnight hours.
Key Responsibilities
Fire Safety Patrols
Inspect for unattended electrical or heating devices in offices and cafeteria.
Check charging zones (e.g., forklift, PDA stations) for unusual smells or sounds.
Verify all office and packing equipment is powered down.
Monitor warehouse lights and emergency signage for proper function.
Inspect bins for flammable or contraband materials.
Ensure fire doors and emergency exits are unobstructed.
Monitor CCTV systems for glitches, lags, or crashes.
Security Patrols
Ensure all warehouse doors, windows, and fire/container doors are closed and secure.
Check smoke detectors for false alarms or tampering.
Inspect toilets and kitchen areas for leaks or running taps.
Investigate abnormal machinery or noises.
Check yard cabinets and external storage for unauthorised access.
Monitor perimeter fencing and barriers for breaches or tampering.
Look out for suspicious persons or vehicles near the premises.
Routine Patrol (Every 2 Hours)
Re-inspect doors, windows, containers, fences, and barriers.
Revisit charging areas for anomalies.
Review CCTV footage and document findings with screenshots.
Reporting & Emergency Handling
Document all non-routine patrol findings with time and details.
Maintain accurate routine patrol logs.
Conduct 2-hourly CCTV reviews and file visual evidence.
In fire emergencies: assess, act (if safe), notify the warehouse manager, and call 999 if necessary.
In theft or intrusion cases: alert the warehouse manager, raise the alarm, and intervene only if safe to do so.
Candidate Requirements
Education:
Minimum secondary school qualification (GCSE or equivalent).
Experience:
At least
3 years of traceable full-time experience
in security or relevant roles. Experience in
cross-border e-commerce or vertical warehouse security
is highly desirable.
Language:
Proficient in English (speaking, listening, reading, and writing).
