Overview


We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our team. This role is essential in providing high-quality care and support to seniors and individuals with disabilities in various settings, including group homes, assisted living facilities, and private residences. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our residents through attentive care and support.

Duties



Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting. Provide personal care including patient monitoring and vital signs assessment. Support meal preparation and cooking to ensure nutritional needs are met. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties. Implement care plans as directed by healthcare professionals, ensuring adherence to HIPAA regulations. Administer medications as prescribed and assist with mobility using equipment such as Hoyer lifts. Engage residents in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and cognitive stimulation, particularly for those with Alzheimer's or dementia. Observe and report any changes in residents' conditions or behaviors to the appropriate healthcare staff. Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance residents' well-being.

Skills



First aid and CPR certification preferred. Experience in home health, hospice care, or long-term care settings is highly desirable. Familiarity with patient observation techniques and vital sign monitoring. Ability to work effectively with individuals who have developmental disabilities, autism, or other special needs. Strong communication skills for interacting with residents, families, and healthcare teams. Knowledge of cleaning protocols and maintaining hygiene standards in caregiving environments. Experience in cooking and meal preparation tailored to dietary restrictions or preferences of residents. Understanding of memory care practices and direct support techniques for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's disease.
