We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Healthcare Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in providing high-quality care to our residents, ensuring their comfort and well-being.
The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, leadership qualities, and a passion for senior care. You will be responsible for assisting with daily activities and implementing care plans tailored to each individual's needs.
Duties
Assist residents with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
Support residents in daily living activities such as meal preparation and feeding.
Monitor and record vital signs, reporting any changes to the nursing staff.
Help implement and follow individual care plans to ensure the best outcomes for residents.
Maintain a clean and safe environment within the care home.
Communicate effectively with residents, families, and the healthcare team to provide updates on resident status.
Supervise junior staff members or volunteers as required, providing guidance and support.
Drive residents to appointments or activities as necessary, ensuring their safety during transport.
Participate in team meetings to discuss resident care and contribute ideas for improvement.
Requirements
Previous experience in a healthcare or senior care setting is preferred but not essential.
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with residents and their families.
Leadership experience is advantageous for supervising staff members.
Familiarity with IT systems used in healthcare settings is beneficial for maintaining accurate records.
A genuine passion for providing compassionate care to seniors is essential.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being able to work independently when required.
A valid driving licence is preferred for transporting residents.
