About the role:

At Footherley Hall we provide holistic care for

50 residents

, including those living with dementia, in a warm, supportive environment guided by our values of compassion, dignity, and respect.

Your role as a senior care assistant

As a Senior Carer on nights, you'll play a vital role in ensuring our residents feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while they rest. You'll lead by example, supporting and guiding the night care team to provide compassionate, person-centred care that promotes dignity, comfort, and independence. At the same time, you'll uphold the highest standards of professionalism, ensuring safe, consistent, and high-quality care throughout the night. You'll also build warm, respectful relationships with residents, families, and healthcare professionals, so that every resident feels valued, supported, and truly at home.

Lead and support the night care team to deliver care that meets each resident's unique needs. Write, update, and review digital care plans, making sure they reflect residents' choices and preferences. Administer and manage medication safely and responsibly. Assist residents with personal care, mobility, and daily living needs. Provide reassurance and comfort, supporting residents who may be anxious or awake during the night. Lead meaningful handovers so every resident's care is consistent and personal. Mentor, supervise, and encourage colleagues, ensuring they feel confident and supported. Work closely with families and healthcare professionals to ensure the very best outcomes for residents. Ensure confidentiality and dignity for all residents. Promote a calm, positive and safe environment throughout the night.

What we are looking for

A genuine passion for making a positive difference in the lives of older people. Experience in creating, updating, and reviewing digital care plans that reflect individual needs and preferences. An NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or above An understanding of current care standards and relevant legislation. Experience administering medication safely and confidently. At least 12 months experience leading or supervising a night care team in an elderly residential setting. Confidence with IT and digital systems. Flexibility to work across night shifts, including weekends, as part of a supportive team.
