Job Description

We are a

compassionate care home providing specialist dementia care for the elderly

. We are seeking an experienced

Senior Support Worker

to lead our night team, ensure residents' safety, and deliver high-quality, person-centred care. You will play a vital role in supporting residents with their physical, emotional, and personal needs during the night, helping them feel safe, comfortable, and valued.

You will:-

Lead and manage night shifts, supervising and supporting junior staff. Conduct regular night checks to monitor residents' safety, well-being, and comfort. Administer medication safely and accurately in line with care plans and regulatory requirements. Provide personal care, including assistance with hygiene, dressing, mobility, and toileting, laundry duties Support residents with meals, hydration, and bedtime routines. Maintain accurate care records, incident reports, and handovers. Liaise effectively with healthcare professionals, families, and external agencies. Respond promptly to emergencies, health changes, or behavioural issues. Ensure the night environment is clean, safe, secure, and comfortable. Support residents' emotional and social needs, particularly those living with dementia. Perform additional night duties such as monitoring sleep patterns, assisting residents with anxiety or distress, and providing reassurance throughout the night.

Person Specification:



Proven experience in a senior support worker role or similar, preferably in dementia or elderly care. Experience administering medication safely. Strong leadership, teamworking, and organizational skills. Excellent communication and liaison skills with healthcare professionals and colleagues. Compassionate, reliable, and attentive to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities during night shifts. NVQ 2 and willing to learn to NVQ 3

Pay: From 13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 30 per week
